A Guide to Courses
Opening Lesson
The first lesson involves the student taking a "Level Assessment Test", a "Speaking Test" and a "Needs Analysis" appraisal.
This is so that future lessons can be organised accurately in relation to a student’s academic level and learning ability.
The multiple-choice test is for 45 minutes with the speaking test lasting for 15 minutes.
The "Needs Analysis" appraisal is a lesson that determines the student’s learning goals and preferences. This involves the teaching direction being "tailor-made" to the student’s learning requirements and needs for future classes. This lasts for 1 Hour.
Total Lesson Time: Two Hours.
Lesson Durations
The minimum time for a lesson is usually for two hours. The maximum time for a lesson is for six hours a day. If students require six-hour intensive courses, then breaks have to be scheduled after ninety minutes of tuition, of about fifteen minutes. A one-hour lunch break is also needed after three hours of teaching, for six-hour intensive courses, as this is a full day of teaching.
Types of lessons on offer
For Corporate Training in "Business English", I focus on creating lessons that are tailor-made, to help students to be able to undertake their employment duties in English, to a suitable and good standard. For "General English" students, I focus on functional English, to facilitate their abilities to communicate on a day-to-day basis in the UK. Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing exercises are utilised in all courses and lessons. All courses and lessons are created and designed to meet the learning requirements of students.
Contents of Courses & Lessons
The contents of courses can include the integration of subjects such as "Economics", "Business Communication" and "Management" if the student requires this. I have also created and taught specialist lessons in "Speaking & Pronunciation", along with creating and designing "CVs" and "Covering Letters" for students.
